Jeeves è un personaggio di un lungo e popolare ciclo di racconti e romanzi dello scrittore umoristico inglese P. G. Wodehouse nei quali è il valletto personale (gentleman’s gentleman) di Bertram (Bertie) Wooster. Le sue caratteristiche ne fanno un domestico assolutamente unico. È estremamente efficiente in tutti gli aspetti del suo lavoro. Ha inventato una bevanda la cui composizione è segreta (si sa soltanto che tra i suoi ingredienti ci sono il succo di pomodoro, l’uovo crudo, il pepe di caienna e la salsa Worcester) ma che permette di curare pressoché istantaneamente i postumi della sbornia.Ha la caratteristica di entrare e uscire dalle stanze senza farsi notare; nelle parole di Bertie, «State parlando del più e del meno e improvvisamente avvertite una presenza, per così dire, ed eccolo lì».
Ha un linguaggio ampolloso e ricco di citazioni latine, scespiriane, o di altri poeti dei quali regolarmente Bertie ignora l’esistenza.
È un membro attivo del Junior Ganymede Club (Club del Giovane Ganimede), un circolo per valletti e maggiordomi, in cui ogni membro deve tenere aggiornato un quaderno dedicato al datore di lavoro. La sezione dedicata a Bertie, la più corposa del circolo, è di ben undici pagine.
Soprattutto, grazie alla propria intelligenza fuori dal comune e a conoscenze inesauribili in ogni campo dello scibile umano, riesce sempre a tirare fuori dai guai il proprio inetto padrone e gli altri personaggi che di volta in volta gli chiedono aiuto.

Jeeves is a character belonging to a long and popular tale and novel cycle written by the English humorist P.G. Wodehouse where he features as Bertram (Bertie) Wooster’s personal valet (gentleman’s gentleman). Wooster is also generally the “I”. Jeeves is probably the most renowned character created by Wodehouse and has become the butler par excellence. He shows some features which make him a really unique  house-steward. He is extremely efficient all through his work. He has devised a drink whose ingredients are kept secret (we only know that tomato juice, raw eggs, Cayenne pepper and Worchester sauce belong to the ingredients), but it is able to cure your hangover almost instantaneously. Jeeves is able to enter and leave rooms without being noticed, so in Bertie’s words: “You are chatting casually and all of a sudden you somehow sense someone is there, and there he is”. His speech is bombastic and full of quotations from the Latin language, form Shakespeare and from some other poets Bertie has regularly never heard of. He is an active member of the Junior Ganymede Club, a club for valets and butlers where each member has got to keep a book updated on his/her employer. The section dealing with Bertie, the most substantial of the club, has got as many as eleven pages. Thanks to his extraordinary intelligence and his deep culture in each single field of the human knowledge, he is above all always able to get his worthless master out of trouble and the other people too begging each time his help.
